The kartarpur corridor is a corridor between Pakistan and India. The corridor will connect Darbar sahib in pakistan kartarpur with dera baba nanank in gurdaspur district in punjab and the journey will be visa free for Indian pilgrimes.
Gurudwara darbar sahib Kartarpur is build where Gurunanak ji is said to have died on 21 september 1539. It is the second holiest place of the sikh religion afterGurudwara Janam Asthan the birthplace of Gurunanak ji.
On november 9 2019 a historical corridor is inaugurated ahead of the 550 birth anniversary of sikkhishm founder Gurunanak dev. The Prime minister of india inaugurated the Indian side of the corridor and in Pakistan Imran khan inaugurated the corridor.
The work on 4.4 KM was started on 28 november2018 .The Pakistan government passed the 100 crore fund to construct the corridor on there side an s Pakistan increased the land allloted to Kartarpur gurudwara from 3 acres to 42 acres. Pakistan will charge 20 dollar fee to each and every pilgrim to visit.
How to register for Kartarpur Gurudwara?
Pilgrim can only register online to do so they should either be citizen of India or posses the oversea citizen of India card and pilgrim should hold a valid passport. pilgrim have to visit on (prakashpurb550.mha.gov.in) and have to upload documents as per asked at the time of registration ,pilgrim will be informed by sms and email of the request before three days of there visit .
Opening of the Kartarpur Corridor from Pakistan side was a big victory for sikh community but on the other hand after a short video release by Pakistan in which a poster of sikh separatist leaders in the background was shown many polictical leader including Punjab CM Amarinder singh warned India to remain alert of Pakistan Army's agenda behind the opening of corridor.
